Singapore nights F1 under lights
I am really looking forward to the forth coming Singapore Grand Prix. The first night race (under lights) is going to prove very challenging I am sure. Not only will the drivers be under lights, but this is a completely new circuit so there will be a number of learnings.
I am sure that we are going to see a race full of surprises as track experience is always a key and with all of the drivers effectively starting a point zero (with the exception of the simulators) this is going to be exciting. Predictions (long term weather) would indicate a 60 percent chance of rain!!
What we need to see is another very close race (with hopefully Mclaren winning!! Mr D) and all of the drivers coming back and saying that this is a good format.
I am hoping that Alonso’s words ring true in terms of the remainder of this season in terms of who will win the title.
“The truth is that it is very difficult to predict, because they are virtually tied. If I had to bet money I would put it on Lewis, because throughout the year he was the most consistent”
Let’s see what the practice and qualies bring.
Lewis look after your tyres please……
Massa must be a little nervous as he has used the joker already!
As a final thought we will hear in the next day or two whether Mclaren’s appeal over Spa will be heard. I do not hold out much hope for Mclaren as rarely are stewards decisions reversed, but let’s hope!

Watched free practice tonight and this is an amazing track….but too narrow and twisty to allow for overtaking in wet or dry racing. LH looks good so Mike will be extremely pleased. This looks like a McLaren track and if “Our Lewis” doesn’t stuff it in the wall he might take it. His driving style allows the car to step out at the back and he might not be as lucky as he was at Monaco.
Some joker might fuel light and try to control the race from the front, but my money is on a McLaren to take the first night race in F1 history.

So Lewis didn’t make it. Massa beat him against my expectation. LH looked stressed out in the after race interviews. I think there was a bit of over-confidence and he so nearly didn’t make it into final quali! Massa is fueled light and has gone for an agressive strategy. It is what’s needed on a track where pole is all on the proviso that there is no safety car periods.
Someone is going to stuff it into the wall at some stage, and I won’t be surprised if ii is Hamilton, he came pretty close in practise today!

I think Lewis is needing to show some BMT right now, let’s hope that he has saved it for the race!
