What’s in a job……….

In a few days’ time I will have completed two months as a partner in Brandesign. It is hard to believe how quickly the time has passed.  What’s more amazing to me is how at home I feel and how much I have already grown.

I joined a team, already almost 5 years in the making , who have welcomed me and made me feel right at home. Now, perhaps this has something to do with me contributing to the decision to pay them or not, but whatever it is I have really been blessed by their input.

I must say that nothing could have prepared me for the reality of the decision I took, to leave almost 21 years of corporate history behind me, to become a business owner. The challenges are not dissimilar to the corporate world, except that the final decision vests with us.

So far the journey has been great, sure I know this is early on, but I know that this is going to be one journey that will teach me a lot.  I am excited about the future, about the people that I have met and the new road I am on. I have to be honest and say that I miss very little of my previous employment, except the people that I interacted with on a daily basis.

So I am hoping that the coming weeks and months will hold great things for us and that these will lead to many years of prosperity.
