What 12 Gentle Souls taught me about the world!
Global markets are crashing (although they now appear to be rebounding slightly on the back of people “picking up bargains” isn’t capitalism great), the ANC is in turmoil (although they keep saying don’t panic!), Oil is up and down like a yo-yo, the Chinese have got a tainted milk scare, our opposition politicians don’t seem to have a clue how to capitalise on the disarray in the ANC camp and the USA is heading or already is in recession.
HOwever, what came home to me yesterday were the 12 gentle souls that I met, that only had one thing on their mind and that was food! Yesterday I, together with my amazing family got to see the 12 elephants at the Elephant Park in Knysna (a clue as to where I am holidaying)
These creatures just had a way about them, they didn’t, at face value (and you all know how good I am at reading the elephant face) anyway, seem to have a care in the world. They were blatantly pandering to our laughter and the food bucket filled with great treats and bumped us around for pure enjoyment. As their handler said, the elephant is your friend when you have food, when your food runs out so does the friendship (and he was right!)
This however didn’t matter – I was in the presence of giants, in size and mercy. They were gentle and sublime, they seemed to look on us with an air of grace. I loved every moment and can truly urge you to get down to this place and be amongst these great creatures. I am truly blessed to have experienced one of the gentle giants of nature. Real food for my soul!
