DA copying Obama in logo only?????
The new logo has really been met with a variety of comments. My view is that it does resemble, too closely for my liking, the Obama campaign logo. I would have thought that there would have been a complete disclosure around this to try to stem the negative sentiment that was bound to come.
I think that symbolism that was evident in the Obama campaign is most certainly worthy of emulating. If the DA indeed are trying to re-shape themselves into a more “inclusive” party, then following the Obama lead is not a bad thing.
What we need to see though, and very quickly, is the support for the “yes we can” logo, through a strong “yes we can” communication platform. We need to see them move from a negative message stance into a positive we can make a difference stance.
I notice an ad this morning (online) which read something like “Stop Zuma from getting a 2/3rd’s majority volunteer for to help the DA” This to me is a negative stance. Joining the DA to make a meaningful difference is a far more positive stance. I will certainly be watching to see how the DA intends taking their message to the streets in the lead up to the election.
